Abbott Northwestern Foundation’s Medicine Ball to raise $1 million for mental health and addiction services

MINNEAPOLIS 05/03/2017

The Medicine Ball, Abbott Northwestern’s fundraising gala, will be held Sept. 23 at the Hilton Minneapolis. Foundation Board Members Cari Erickson and Cynthia MacMillan will host, PurpleX will entertain, and KSTP-TV Meteorologist Ken Barlow will emcee “Starry Night.”

One in five adults and one in five children in America live with a mental health condition, and one in 10 adults is addicted to drugs or alcohol.

“Finding help can be discouraging and can sometimes feel like a hopeless process for patients and family members,” says Dr. Beth LaRusso, medical director, Mental Health, Abbott Northwestern Hospital. “Abbott Northwestern is developing solutions so that patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.”

There is no fundraising at the event. For tickets and other information, contact Anne Langaard, 612-863-4612. Since 2005, the Medicine Ball has raised more than $7.2 million for the programs and patients of Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
