Allina Health and TPT present Atul Gawande

MINNEAPOLIS 01/08/2016

Allina Health is pleased to announce that Minnesotans have additional opportunities to see Atul Gawande, best-selling author of Being Mortal. Allina Health's LifeCourse co-sponsored a Gawande appearance last September in St. Paul and funded the event's recording by Minnesota Public Television (TPT).

The video will be broadcast on Sunday, January 17 at 2 p.m. on TPT 2 and Sunday, February 21 at noon on TPT Life.

Additionally, it will air on MNChannel on Sunday, January 31 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, February 7 at 1 a.m., 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.

"In this video, Dr. Gawande shares his vision for improving performance in health care to help transform the way we think about and deliver care to those dealing with the challenges of late life," said Paige Bingham, director, LifeCourse.

"Late life should be a time full of purpose and meaning, when individuals can make choices that support what matters most to them. But often, late life is a time filled with uncertainty. Individuals living with serious illness may find the care available is fragmented and doesn't support their non-medical needs. Individuals face challenges during the 'in-between' times as well as during emergencies. We think LifeCourse responds to many of these challenges," Bingham said.
