Abbott Northwestern Medicine Ball to benefit nurses

MINNEAPOLIS 04/14/2016

The Abbott Northwestern Foundation intends to raise $1 million with this year's Medicine Ball with proceeds benefitting Abbott Northwestern nurses. One Night in Havana is Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Hilton Minneapolis, 1001 Marquette Ave. with music by Charanga Tropical, the Minnesota 12-piece Latin orchestra.

Dr. Markand Sara Migliori and Dr. David and Claire Ruebeck are the event and committee co-chairs. Drs. Migliori and Ruebeck are plastic surgeons who practice at Abbott Northwestern.

"Abbott Northwestern Hospital's reputation for exceptional patient care has everything to do with our talented, dedicated nurses. We are proud to be the Twin Cities' only Magnet® - designated hospital, achieving the American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) highest recognition for professional nursing practice first in 2009 and redesignation in 2014," said Travis Maher, Chief Nursing Officer, Abbott Northwestern Hospital.

All proceeds from One Night in Havana will provide scholarships to help Abbott Northwestern nurses who have associate degrees attain bachelor's degrees. For more event information, contact Anne Langaard, 612-863-4612
