The accolade comes from Becker's Hospital Review, which analyzed data in which 93 percent of RFAH patients reported their rooms were "always" clean.

"We're very proud of our environmental services team, which does an outstanding job of ensuring our hospital is always clean, warm and welcoming to our patients and their families," said Bruce Craven, director of operations at River Falls Area Hospital. "This recognition is particularly meaningful because it is based on feedback from our patients – the very people we are here to serve."

Becker's Hospital Review is an influential publication aimed at high-level hospital leaders. It features business updates, legal news and analysis focused on hospitals and health systems. To compile its list of the 52 hospitals with the cleanest patient rooms, Becker's reviewed HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) data from Hospital Compare.

The HCAHPS survey was developed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and is the first national, standardized, publicly reported survey of patients' perspectives of hospital care.
