Representing River Falls EMS were Catherine Eaton, Ben Prager, Katy Frey, Katie Pichla and Mandy Pichla, who ate and chatted with River Falls Area Hospital administrative supervisor Sue Dzubay.

Nurses and support staff at River Falls Area Hospital threw a picnic to thank EMS personnel during National EMS Week.

Area EMS personnel were invited to the hospital for grilled brats, burgers, salads, chips, fruit and root beer floats on May 19. The picnic moved inside due to cool temperatures, with EMS providers and hospital staff gathering in the hospital classrooms to eat and chat.

"The EMS are such a critical aspect of our medical response for the community," said Dr. Thomas Monahan, medical director of the Emergency Department at River Falls Area Hospital. "We certainly appreciate what they do and we are lucky to have as skilled and well-trained and well-equipped an ambulance service as we have. They are a critical part of the team."
