River Falls Area Hospital Foundation awards three scholarships

RIVER FALLS, Wis. 08/06/2015

Three non-traditional students have been given extra assistance with their tuition fees this semester.

Scholarships of $1,000 were awarded by the River Falls Area Hospital Foundation to Katy Matzek, Julie McGary and Jessica Puhrmann.

While the scholarship program is open to all members of the community, the three recent awardees are all employees at River Falls Area Hospital who are pursuing RN (registered nurse) to BSN (bachelor of science in nursing) degrees.

Twice a year, the foundation awards scholarships to non-traditional, local students pursuing a qualification in the health care field. The deadline for applications for fall scholarships is October 15, 2015.

Scholarship applicants must have at least one year of work experience after high school. They must live or work in the region served by River Falls Area Hospital and be accepted or enrolled in an accredited program (does not have to be in the region).
