How to access the hospital and where to park
We're building the future of health care! Construction at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital campus will affect your arrival and access points:
Section of southbound 10th Avenue closed
Hospital roof work, starting on Monday, April 15, will require closing a section of southbound 10th Avenue. To accommodate equipment for the roof project, the southbound lane will be closed from 26th street to our Emergency Department entrance. Northbound traffic will flow normally and the Emergency Department entrance will be open with access from 28th Street. This roof project is expected to be complete June 15.
Valet parking & drop-off/pick-up
Use the temporary main entrance at the Main Hospital West Building. To reach it, turn left from E. 28th St., just east of Chicago Ave.
Parking
Park in the Purple Ramp by entering from Chicago Ave. or eastbound E. 28th St. Find the ramp lobby on Level 3 to access the skyway. You may walk to the hospital campus or catch a free ride through the skyway via our electric cart service, available 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays.
Emergency care
Turn in to the Emergency Department entrance from 10th Ave. S. between E. 26th St. and E. 28th St.

Blue Distinction Centers for Spine Surgery
Abbott Northwestern Hospital has been designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery. The selection criteria for the Blue Distinction Centers for Spine Surgery was developed with input from expert physicians and medical organizations and include a comprehensive evaluation of structure, process, and outcome measures. Blue Distinction Centers for Spine Surgery demonstrate a commitment to quality care and offer comprehensive inpatient spinal surgical services, including discectomy, fusion, and decompression procedures. To be selected for this designation, Abbott Northwestern Hospital had to demonstrate excellent performance with prevention of post-operative infections, use of evidenced based medical guidelines, post-op pain management, physician credentialing and training, and low rates of re-admission following surgery, to name just a few.
