    Advancing Excellence at Abbott Northwestern Hospital is raising funds for seven of the hospital’s centers of excellence. These are among Abbott Northwestern’s core services and, together, they serve thousands of patients and families every year.

    • Cardiovascular Services - to support innovation and advance patient care with funding for the Health Care Delivery Innovation Center, rural heart health programs, technology, research and clinical education.
    • Compassionate Care – to support the special health needs of vulnerable patients with funding for patient assistance, patient supplies, community access, patient education and patient-inspired research.
    • LifeCourse™ – to support innovation in late life care with funding to influence best practices, provide training in other communities and expand the use of care guides.
      • Mental Health and Addiction Services – to improve access to care and treatment for patients with mental health conditions and addictions with funding for crisis care in our Emergency Departments, psychiatric support in primary care clinics, and the Mother Baby Mental Health Program.
        • Neuroscience Institute and Spine Institute – to support neuroscience patient care, research, innovation and education with funding for research and technological innovation, patient care and education.
          • Nursing Excellence Initiative – to strengthen nursing practice for the future with funding for scholarships, nurse-led research and ongoing education.
          • Research - to investigate innovative approaches to advance health care, improve patient lives and promote population health. 
            • Piper Breast Center – to help strengthen prevention, treatment and support services for patients with breast cancer with funding for emergency assistance, renovations that contribute to a healing environment, innovative care practices and research.
              • Virginia Piper Cancer Institute® – to help strengthen prevention and treatment services for patients with cancer with funding for innovative care practices, research and renovations that contribute to a healing environment.
                • Where the Need is Greatest - Donors may make an unrestricted gift to be allocated by the Foundation based on the greatest priorities of the hospital and community.
