2027 Benefits Enrollment is Nov. 2-16
Allina Health continues to offer valuable medical options for 2027, while still keeping the cost of medical coverage lower than the average increase for Minnesota companies. You may need to change your medical coverage for next year, so now is a good time to see what's new and consider what will best fit your needs.
As you review your employee benefit options for next year, it's important to know that you will continue to receive your selected Allina Health benefits throughout 2027. The options available during our 2027 Benefits Enrollment are the result of our independent annual benefits review and planning process and are not related to the proposed integration with Sutter Health.
Key things to know:
- The Allina First, Allina Elevate and Premier Health Savings plans will be offered in 2027. If you are currently enrolled in one of these plans and do not make any changes, your current medical plan coverage will automatically continue in 2027.
- The Select Health Savings Plan will not be offered in 2027. If you are currently enrolled in the Select Health Savings Plan, action is required. You must complete 2027 Benefits Enrollment and select another plan for next year.
- Enrollment is also required for PTO purchase, if eligible, and all types of Flexible Spending Accounts (Health Care FSA, Limited Purpose FSA or Dependent Care FSA) for 2027. These elections do not automatically carry over.
- When choosing a medical plan, consider the plan's network based on your care needs. Visit Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN and Allina Health | Aetna (Allina Elevate Plan only) to search network providers.
- Narrow network: The Allina Elevate and Premier Health Savings plans give you access to all Allina Health providers, plus specialist network partners, in exchange for lower premiums.
- Broad network: The Allina First Plan gives you access to an extended nationwide network of two million providers. A spousal surcharge for employees who follow non-contract benefits also continues to apply.
- Review changes to the Allina First Plan: The deductible is increasing to $1,000 individual/$2,000 family, and the out-of-pocket maximum is increasing to $5,000 individual/$10,000 family for this plan. Additionally, the Extended Network coinsurance is changing to 50% for most services. You can review these updates in more detail in the plan comparison chart or in HRConnect.
- Review a change to the Premier Health Savings Plan: This plan will not include an employer-funded Health Savings Account (HSA) contribution from Allina Health; however, you may still contribute to an HSA.
- If you enroll in any Allina Health employee medical plan, you’ll also have access to Rx Savings Solutions (RxSS). This service helps lower your prescription drug costs by identifying opportunities for lower-cost, therapeutically equivalent medications.
