Pet Partners Teams (dogs only) at United Hospital provide animal-assisted activities to patients and guests. Brighten someone's day with a visit from your certified Pet Partner team!

While volunteering at United Hospital, you'll meet all sorts of people and you'll be making a difference in people's lives. In addition, you receive:

  • flexible scheduling
  • complimentary parking, a one-way bus pass or one-way Metro Mobility pass
  • $7 meal credit per day
  • annual flu vaccine

Pet Partner Team Volunteer Process

Applications are accepted for canine teams which are registered with Pet Partners (formally Delta Society) OR
canine teams, which are currently involved in the evaluation process in order to register with Pet Partners (formally Delta Society). Teams will not be scheduled for regular volunteer shifts until Pet Partner registration is complete/and all necessary documentation is collected.

  1. Complete an online application.

  2. Complete mandatory health forms.
  3. Attend orientation.
  4. Complete required health screening. This can be completed at United Hospital (no charge). Information will be provided at Orientation.
  5. Complete an on-boarding shift with a peer pet partner team. Information will be provided at Orientation.
  6. The process to become a United Hospital Volunteer may take several weeks.
