The Epilepsy Center, in collaboration with the Minnesota Epilepsy Group, consists of a team of internationally recognized leaders in comprehensive epilepsy care of children and adults with seizures. The program excels in differential diagnosis, neuropsychological assessment, medical and surgical treatment and clinical research. The 10-bed adult inpatient epilepsy unit has 24-hour video electroencephalography (EEG) monitoring.
A comprehensive team model manages the patient including neurologists/epileptologists, neurosurgeons, nurses, neuropsychologists, neuroradiologists, psychologists, pharmacists, social workers, nutritionists, physical and occupational therapists and EEG technicians. Comprehensive state-of-the-art treatment for epilepsy, physiological and psychological nonepileptic seizures and brain tumors is available. Investigational medications for epilepsy, vagus nerve stimulators and magnetoencephalography and magnetic imaging are available on site.
