King Emergency Care Center offers emergency medical programs, disaster preparedness, advanced technology and community education efforts together under one state-of-the-art facility. The department has been designed to manage biologic, chemical and mass casualty incidents. Advanced triage servicesTriage is the process by which medical staff sort patients based on the urgency of their health care needs. The Center’s advanced triage has patients being seen by a physician’s assistant or registered nurse upon arrival. Patients are then placed in an examination room for registration and examination thus reducing wait time. Computed tomographyA computed tomography (CT) scan is an imaging method that uses x-rays to create cross-sectional pictures of the body. Imaging capabilitiesA computed tomography scanning device located within the Emergency Care Center allows patients to be diagnosed faster and treatment to begin more quickly. Enhanced privacy and safetyEach examination room can be fully enclosed for improved privacy for our patients. Consultation rooms for families are available. In addition, there are six, private, secured rooms that are dedicated to patients with mental health concerns to improve both their safety and the safety of others. The care teamThe Peter J.
