Spend some time this summer on a beautiful golf course. Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute offers adaptive golf instruction, a golf league and an annual golf tournament.
People who have had polio, amputations, arthritis, strokes, spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities can enjoy golf, a sport they can play with family and friends.
You can learn the sport or improve your game with instruction from course staff and / or adaptive golf professionals. Some locations have equipment available; others require that you bring your own clubs.
Instruction and play is available at several courses in the Twin Cities area. Click on the links below for details of the various offerings.
The golf program would like to thank the Marvin and Elayne Wolfenson Fund for Golfers with Disabilities and the Toro Corporation.
Be sure to put Friday, August 8, on your calendar for the 2014 Courage Kenny Golf Tournament.
Location: Braemar Golf Course in Edina.
Golf tournament for individuals with physical disabilities
Since 1983, the Institute has sponsored an annual golf tournament for individuals with disabilities.
Competitors can play on the regulation 18-hole or executive 9-hole course. Competition is based upon golf handicaps.
