Courage Center Golf Program and Tournament
Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute and Courage Center merged in 2013 to form Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, part of Allina Health. Here's a link to the Courage Center Golf Program and Tournament, which offers additional locations.
Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute offers a golf league and annual golf tournament, making it possible for people who have had polio, amputations, arthritis, strokes, spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities to enjoy golf with family and friends.
Participants can try a variety of adapted equipment, receive individualized golf-swing instruction and lessons from a golf pro.
The golf program is offered through Abbott Northwestern Hospital and has the following services:
The golf program would like to thank the Marvin and Elayne Wolfenson Fund for Golfers with Disabilities and the Toro Corporation.
Eleven Who Care Honoree: Perry Hendricks
Perry volunteers with the Courage Kenny Golf Program. He works with participants who have had polio, amputations, arthritis, strokes, spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities and shows them that they can continue to enjoy golf with family and friends.
Golfers are responsible to pay the course greens fee each week. Fees include cart and range balls.
Green fees are $12 at Braemar Golf Course and $16 at Island Lake. There is a registration fee for the league and tournament.
A scholarship may be available upon request.
