RunSMART Program

From the novice to the experienced, running can lead to nagging soreness, acute injuries and chronic pain. Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute's RunSMART can help!

About RunSMART

RunSMART (Skilled Movement And Rehabilitation Team) at Courage Kenny Sports & Physical Therapy is a goal directed physical therapy program designed for runners.

The goal of the program is to prevent running injuries and to assist runners who have been injured or are recovering from orthopedic surgery. We will help get you back to training and returned to an active running lifestyle.

If you are experiencing pain while running, have the problem checked out by a physician before the injury escalates.

Your initial appointment with a therapist will include:

  • runner's history
  • biomechanical evaluation to detect musculoskeletal asymmetries
  • footwear analysis and running shoe prescription
  • comprehensive rehabilitation program for home or at the gym to get you back to running.

Injuries treated

You will meet with an experienced physical therapist trained in evaluation and treatment of runners. Injuries treated include:

  • foot and heel pain
  • achilles tendonitis
  • shin splints
  • knee pain
  • Iliotibial Band (ITB) Syndrome
  • hip pain
  • back and neck pain.

Referral and payment

Therapy services are typically billed to your insurance. Please contact your insurance company regarding your therapy benefit and obtain a medical referral if required by your insurance plan.

Retail services for education, fitness, and performance are also offered, which are not billable to your insurance. Payment for these services is collected in full at the time of the visit.
