Electronic medical record system

In 2009, Phillips Eye Institute implemented a new electronic medical record system

As a result, patients will have one electronic medical record that follows them from any Allina hospital and clinic to any other Allina hospital and clinic. Allina has been transitioning all of its hospitals and clinics to the electronic medical record system over the last several years.

The system ensures that Allina caregivers have the information they need to provide safe, quality care. It offers faster access to test results, medical history, medications and prior health conditions. It also has important safety features, such as immediate checks for drug and allergy interactions when prescriptions are being considered.

Patients will receive additional information about the new electronic medical system when they are registered in the system for the first time.
