Inpatient services

Patients who can benefit from the services of Phillips Eye Institute's Inpatient Unit include those who need:

• special positioning
• eye pressure monitoring
• frequent eye drop administration
• assistance due to low vision

As well, the Inpatient Unit is available to assist physicians who need a space to address non-trauma-related eye emergencies, such as retinal detachments, infections or increased eye pressure, when their offices are closed.

Patients are admitted to the Inpatient Unit with a physician’s order and must meet specific criteria for insurance reimbursement.
