The Koda Living Community will be physically connected to the Owatonna Hospital via a heated, walkway on the northwest side of the Owatonna Hospital.
Koda Living Community
In February 2013, the new 80-bed Koda Living Community, a skilled nursing facility located off Interstate 35 in Owatonna, will open providing long- and short-term care.
Koda Living Community is being built through a partnership between the Benedictine Health System and Steele County. The Living Community model, as developed by the Benedictine Health System, incorporates the latest innovations and approaches to elder care. Koda will serve people who need care while transitioning from the hospital to home, as well as those who need longer term skilled nursing care.
The new facility will feature friendly neighborhood-style living with home-like private and semi-private rooms, a rehabilitation center, beauty salon and spiritual care chapel. What's more, it will be physically connected to the Owatonna Hospital via a heated, ground-level walkway to provide convenience for patients who transition from Owatonna Hospital to the Koda Living Community.
