New Ulm Medical Center's comprehensive surgical services team, which includes surgeons, registered nurses, surgical technologists, registered nurse anesthetists and an array of support staff, is here for you, close to home. Their expertise, skill and compassion, provide our patients with the highest quality surgical care available.

More than 1,800 surgical procedures are performed each year at New Ulm Medical Center including both inpatient and outpatient (same day) surgeries.

In 2009, the Surgery Center was expanded and renovated. Some of the renovations include:

  • two 575 square foot operating rooms (ORs) to meet today's standards and one renovated OR
  • renovated post anesthesia recovery area
  • private pre-operative and recovery rooms for same day surgery patients
  • family waiting area that is welcoming and conveniently located
  • staff and physician support area.

  • varicose veins.

In addition, our Same Surgery Center features private, prep/recovery rooms and one endoscopy room.

Our post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) provides recovery time post-operatively with one-on-one attention from our skilled nursing staff.

Here, the patient is closely monitored and provided pain control and education.
