New Ulm Medical Center Pharmacy

New Ulm Medical Center has registered pharmacists on duty seven days-a-week to serve hospital patients. Our pharmacists work closely with physicians and other health care providers to ensure appropriate, safe and effective use of medications.

Our pharmacy takes pride in ensuring a safe medication system from the time of obtaining medications from the drug wholesaler to the time when the drug is being administered to the patient.

The pharmacy manages the Pyxis system for drug dispensing. Pyxis is an automated drug distribution machine, which allows medications to be stored within most departments of New Ulm Medical Center, allowing for safe and efficient drug distribution system.

The pharmacy department also continues to meet the expanding needs of the facility and community by offering new services. Some of these services include mixing chemotherapy medications for the oncology and infusion center, providing after-hours medication dispensing for Emergency Department patients and Medication Therapy Management.

Medication Therapy Management

Medication Therapy Management (MTM) is a patient counseling service to address medication-related questions. It is provided at New Ulm Medical Center Clinic. Patients may schedule appointments for MTM with a pharmacist specially trained in this service by calling the appointment line at 507-217-5011.
