Buffalo Hospital Foundation says thank you for Pink Street Party support
BUFFALO, Minn. 10/17/2013--Buffalo Hospital Foundation announced today that the Fifth Annual Pink Street Party on Oct. 3 raised nearly $40,000 for community cancer care.
"We owe a big thank you to the businesses, community groups, organizations, and individuals who sponsored and supported the Pink Street Party. The community surrounding Buffalo Hospital has been incredibly supportive of the Pink Street Party every year," says Karla Heeter, executive director of the Buffalo Hospital Foundation part of Allina Health.
Heeter says the money raised this year will support the new Community Cancer Care Fund. The first four Pink Street parties raised the dollars to build the new Virginia Piper Cancer Institute – Buffalo Hospital.
The Community Cancer Care Fund will help those who are experiencing a financial hardship as a result of a cancer diagnosis. The fund covers basic living expenses such as mortgage or rent, car payments, heat, electricity or other utilities, insurance, and out of pocket medical expenses.
Community Cancer Care Fund applications are available online at buffalohospital.org or by calling 763-684-6800.
