What is lymphedema?
Lymphedema is a common side effect of cancer treatments. Lymphedema is the swelling of a body part as a result of poor drainage of fluid from the area. This can occur after radiation or surgical removal of lymph nodes. Patients are treated with a variety of methods that include exercise, education, compression and massage.
Dr. Hutchison has a passion for improving methods of screening and prevention of lymphedema as well as ensuring all patients have access to adequate lymphedema care.
