Helene Houle Medical Center opening Aug. 14 in Vadnais Heights

VADNAIS HEIGHTS, Minn.  08/13/2013--Residents now have access to high-quality health care a little closer to home. When the 56,700 square foot Medical Center opens its doors on Aug. 14, it will be home to an Allina Health clinic, a Courage Kenny Sports & Physical Therapy site and The Urgency Room, with Metro Dental and St. Croix Orthopedics to open later this year.

The Helene Houle Medical Center is named in honor of Helen Houle, a longtime philanthropist, St. Paul business woman and wife of John Nasseff.

Located just two blocks east of I-35E at the corner of County Road E and Labore Road in Vadnais Heights, patients will have access to primary and specialty care, a full suite of imaging and lab services, rehabilitative care for adults, sports medicine and urgency care. Geoffrey Sylvester, vice president of clinic operations and integration for Allina Health, said the mix of services offered at the building should make it a destination facility for the area. “We’re expecting the Helene Houle Medical Center to be a medical hub for the northern suburbs,” Sylvester said.

The 22,000 square-foot Allina Health Vadnais Heights Clinic replaces the Aspen Medical Group – White Bear Lake clinic at 2555 East County Road E. The clinic will serve patients of all ages, with an emphasis on preventive medicine and overall health and wellness. In addition to family medicine and internal medicine the clinic will offer specialist services including audiology, general surgery, mental health, podiatry, and ear nose and throat. “We are extremely pleased to be opening on schedule, offering a seamless transition for patients as we relocate our clinic to Vadnais Heights,” said Molly Brusman, clinic manager. More information available about providers, services and appointment scheduling online at allinahealth.org/vadnaisheights.

Courage Kenny Sports & Physical Therapy is an outpatient site of Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, part of Allina Health. Relocating from its White Bear Lake location, Courage Kenny Sports & Physical Therapy – Vadnais Heights will offer sports and orthopedic physical therapy, as well as a range of specialty services that include therapy for infant torticollis, temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ), vestibular/balance disorders, lymphedema and cancer rehabilitation. More information about providers, services and appointment scheduling is available at allinahealth.org/couragekenny.

Emergency Physicians Professional Association (EPPA) will open its third Urgency Room (UR), with other locations in Eagan and Woodbury. The UR offers a new and efficient way to receive emergency medical care outside of a standard hospital setting. Patients see a board-certified emergency physician in an environment that’s as fully equipped as any ER, yet much more welcoming, fast and more cost effective than a standard ER. The UR is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., 365 days a year, including weekends and holidays.

A medical center grand opening celebration for the community will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meet providers and staff, win exciting prizes, tour the building, enjoy child-friendly games and activities and more.
