Allina's Mercy Hospital invites local medical students to apply for scholarships

COON RAPIDS, Minn. 02/24/2012--The Mercy Hospital Medical Staff will be awarding scholarships to medical students in memory of the late Bevan W. Bunker, M.D. Applications must be received by July 1.

Multiple scholarships from $1,000 to $3000 will be awarded for the 2012-2013 school year. Applicants must meet the following requirements:

accepted by or enrolled in an accredited school of medicine;
a current resident of the Minneapolis northwest metropolitan area or a graduate of a high school located in the service area of Mercy Hospital;
and submit a personal essay.

Recipients will be selected by the Mercy Scholarship Committee on the basis of community service, achievement and a personal essay. The committee includes representatives from Mercy Hospital Medical Staff and administration. All applicants will be notified in writing of the results of the committee’s decision.
