Depending on your heart problem, you may have surgery as part of your treatment.
The two most common types of heart surgery are coronary artery bypass and heart valve repair or replacement.
Some patients may qualify for surgery that does not require the use of a heart lung machine. Your doctor will talk with you if this is appropriate.
