Nutrition

When it comes to the health of your heart, what you eat is as important as the medicine you take.

To help your heart, your health care team may want you to lower your cholesterol, eat less saturated fat and/or eat less sodium.

Both the American Heart Association (AHA) and the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) recommend certain guidelines for you to follow regarding the amount of fat, saturated fat, trans fat, sodium and cholesterol in your diet.
