Internship

The internship programs offer introductory, specialized training in clinical pastoral care, emphasizing spiritual/theological integration, ethical reflection, and pastoral leadership. Interns experience clinical assignments that provide in-depth exposure to specialty areas, enabling each student to become an integral part of the health care team.

Time commitment for these units vary from 26 hours per week in the hospital (plus scheduled on-call coverage) in the Fall and Spring, to 40 hours per week in the hospital (plus schedules on-call coverage) during the summer unit.

Tuition

$700 first unit, $350 subsequent units. (A $250 security deposit is required within 2 weeks of being accepted.  This non-refundable deposit is applied to the first unit tuition.)

Residency

The Abbott Northwestern Hospital CPE Residency Program - August 27, 2012 - Sept. 2, 2013

This program includes four units of ACPE-accredited clinical pastoral education and offers advanced, specialized training in clinical pastoral care, emphasizing spiritual/theological integration, ethical reflection, and pastoral leadership. Residents experience clinical assignments that provide in-depth exposure to specialty areas, enabling each student to become an integral part of the health care team.

The United Hospital CPE Residency Program - August 27, 2012 - June 7, 2013

This program includes three units of ACPE-accredited clinical pastoral education and offers advanced, specialized training in clinical pastoral care, emphasizing spiritual/theological integration, ethical reflection, and pastoral leadership. Residents experience clinical assignments that provide in-depth exposure to specialty areas, enabling each student to become an integral part of the health care team.

Abbott Northwestern Hospital: August 27, 2012 - September 2, 2013- All positions filled
United Hospital: August 27, 2012 - June 7, 2013- All positions filled

Salary

**Part of salary may be designated as non-taxable housing if ordained or comissioned

Abbott Northwestern Hospital (12 month program): $29,000 plus compensation for scheduled on-call coverage

United Hospital (9 month program): $21,750 plus compensation for scheduled on-call coverage.
