Bill works as a clinic greeter and hospitality volunteer, offering waiting patients water and snacks, and their children crayons and graham crackers. "There's always something to do here and it’s
interesting meeting new people," he says. He also offers a sympathetic ear, and says he spends a lot of time just talking to people to help put them at ease. "Sometimes they just open up," he says. "When I
first started, I didn’t think I was doing that big a deal, but patients are always thanking me. I think they really appreciate it. And I love it."
