Patient story

Don't avoid breast cancer: Tami's story

The motto

Sooner is better than later for detecting breast cancer. Many statistics support this, but Tami Strantz of Cambridge, Minnesota, knows firsthand how important early detection is.

Cancer / Oncology Services

Cambridge Medical Center is proud to partner with Minnesota Oncology to provide outpatient cancer care and treatment delivered with compassion and respect.

Here you will find treatment plans based on the most current research evidence and technology available and you’ll be supported by warm and caring staff members who understand the needs of patients with cancer.

Our care team

Our full-time oncologist, Dr. Sanda Morar, nurses and pharmacists work collaboratively to provide compassionate care based on the individualized needs of each patient. As a team, they strive to address the emotional, as well as the physical needs of the patient.

Our nurses are specially trained and dedicated to providing exceptional nursing care. They are sensitive to the unique needs of cancer patients and are able to answer questions about treatment and side effects. The staff also assists patients with scheduling follow-up appointments and tests and provides access to available resources.

Diagnostic services

State-of-the-art digital PET/CT and MRI imaging systems provide fast and precise information to help physicians make accurate diagnoses and assess treatment progress. Digital mammography offers the most sophisticated technology available for screening mammograms. Cambridge Medical Center's Mammography Department is certified by the American College Of Radiology and has consistently received perfect reviews from the Mammography Quality Standards Act. We offer mammograms for early breast cancer detection, when it is most curable. To schedule a mammogram, call 763-688-6380.

Chemotherapy

Getting treatment close to home makes life so much easier. Our experienced certified chemotherapy registered nurses closely monitor and care for patients during treatment. In addition, our staff can provide care for patients requiring infusion therapy, such as low iron and rheumatoid arthritis.

Chemotherapy and infusion therapy services are also available to patients who are receiving care from a physician not affiliated with Cambridge Medical Center or Minnesota Oncology.

Support services

Support services are also available, including the Harbor Room, a cancer resource center, and care at home. We also offer several cancer support groups.
