Cancer support groups

These cancer support groups take place in the Harbor Room Cancer Resource Center, located near the hospital lobby of Cambridge Medical Center. For more information, call 763-688-8415.

  • Women's cancer support group meets the first Thursday of every month, 2 to 3:30 p.m. Meeting focus on issues specific to women who are dealing with cancer. All women touched by cancer, in any way, are invited to attend. Complimentary refreshments are served.
  • "Beautiful You" program meets the second Thursday of every month, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. "Beautiful You" provides make-up application instruction and offers various options for women dealing with hair loss while undergoing cancer treatment. Participants receive about $200 in Mary Kay make-up, plus supplies, at no charge. Anyone currently undergoing treatment, or who has completed treatment within the past six months, can attend. Each session is limited to six women. Participants can bring a guest of their choice for support. However, guests will not receive free products. Call 763-688-8415 to RSVP.
  • Men's cancer support group is held every third Tuesday of the month, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Men can discuss anything about their cancer journey or the journey of someone in their life. Our facilitator, Jim Donahue, leads the group in discussion. All men dealing with any cancer, in any way, are encouraged to attend. Refreshments are provided.
