Walk with a Doc is a free community program for anyone interested in taking steps towards a healthier lifestyle. Brought to our community by Buffalo Hospital, each Walk with a Doc session will start in Sturges Park and feature a local doctor and health related topic.
Learn more about how nutrition and lifestyle changes can promote better health. Join us to discover how you can make small changes that can make a BIG difference in your health.
Stepping On is a falls prevention program led by health professionals and local guest experts. Learn simple and fun balance and strength training techniques, what to look for in safe foot wear and how to check your home for falls prevention. Experts will talk about medications, vision and balance issues and how to be safe from falls when out and about.
If you have conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, heart disease, chronic pain, or anxiety, the Living Well with Chronic Conditions Workshop can help you take charge of your life. You'll get the support you need, find practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue, discover better nutrition and exercise choices, understand new treatment choices, and learn better ways to talk to your doctor and family about your health.
The Chronic Pain Self-Management Program provides knowledge and information, teaches skills that people can use to manage chronic pain, gives people greater confidence in their ability to manage chronic pain and helps improve the quality of life.
CPR and First Aid courses
Covers adult, infant and child CPR and use of ventilation devices. Designed for EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses and respiratory therapists. $60
For those who have a duty to respond to cardiac or first aid emergencies. Teaches how to recognize and treat emergencies until help arrives. Also included are CPR and AED. $65
Meets child day care training requirements and is recommended for anyone who works with or cares for children. Topics include first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, and child and infant CPR and AED. $65
This class gives youth ages 11 and older the skills necessary for safe and responsible care of children in the absence of their parents or guardians. Covers problem solving and accident prevention, first aid, safe play, and more. $45
