Foundation giving opportunities
Recognizing that health and healing have a spiritual and emotional dimension, Buffalo Hospital will soon begin construction of a Spiritual Center.

It will be a dedicated place for people of all religious and spiritual backgrounds to quietly reflect, meditate and care for their spiritual needs in their own way. An oasis of peace, it will help reduce stress and anxiety and help people cope.
Patients, families, visitors and employees are invited to use the center any time of the day or night. The center is scheduled to open by the end of 2012.
Books and materials typically used by the world's major religions will be available, such as a Bible, Quran, Torah, prayer beads, rugs, shawls, etc. Although there will be no spiritual counselors or clergy at the Spiritual Center when it opens, the long-term goal is to provide patients and their loved ones with support, comfort, guidance and advocacy through non-denominational chaplain services.
New Birth Center
The beautiful new Birth Center was designed to be environmentally safe and friendly with recycled floorings, fabrics, wall coverings and window glazing to reduce heating and cooling costs.
In addition to the modern technology for the physicians and nurses, the Birth Center offers new mothers and family member some added perks and luxuries - a private post-partum room with a soaking tub, wireless internet access, iPod docking station , small personal refrigerator, a rocking chair for new mothers and a beautiful, light-filled space with the equipment needed for newborn care. Also, a special music system was installed to play beautiful lullaby chimes throughout the hospital to celebrate the birth of each new baby.
Gifts are still needed to fully complete the birth center, which would include building one labor and delivery room, two post-partum rooms and an operating room. Specific naming opportunities are still available. To make a donation of any size, please call the Foundation at 763-684-6800.
Breast cancer screenings
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Buffalo Hospital Foundation is dedicated to helping women receive a relaxing mammogram.
With fund-raising events such as Tough Enough to Wear Pink and Pink Street Party, funds are raised to host Mammo Parties for women in our community who do not have insurance or are under-insured. Check our events page to find out when the next Mammo Party is planned and dates for Tough Enough to Wear Pink.
Families in Wright County now have access to technology to save the lives of those with special needs who may wander away, thanks to the fund-raising efforts of Buffalo Hospital Foundation.
Project Lifesaver uses state-of-the-art technology and specially trained teams to rapidly locate lost children and adults with autism, Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. Learn more about Project Lifesaver.
Heart Safe Communities
Heart Safe Communities is improving survival from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) – one of our nation's leading killers -- by speeding time to defibrillation.
To help the nearly 1,000 people struck by SCA everyday in this country, the foundation raised funds and placed over 160 Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) in community gathering places in 19 communities stretching from Delano to Cokato and from Watertown to Big Lake.
Thanks to our donors, when someone collapses from SCA, help is now closer than ever. More than 2,400 community members were also trained to use AEDs through the foundation's partnership with Community Health Foundation and Allina Health Emergency Medical Services. Trainees had the opportunity to participate in free screenings to assess their risk of heart disease as experts from Buffalo Hospital's Cardiac Center.
If you share our commitment to raising awareness of SCA, training citizens to use AEDs to save lives, and screening community members to prevent America's number one killer – heart disease, please make a donation to the Heart Safe Fund.
