Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute's inpatient rehabilitation units provide a comfortable environment, where each patient can receive therapeutic care and practice daily living activities. Patients also benefit from counseling, education, 24-hour rehabilitation nursing care and a daily visit with a physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor (physiatrist). The inpatient rehabilitation unit at Abbott Northwestern Hospital is called West-2300 or W2300. It is located on the second floor of the Sister Kenny Pavilion. The unit has 38 beds, most of which are semi-private. Patients who have behavioral issues are given priority for available private rooms. Our patientsSister Kenny Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation accepts patients ages 16 and older at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Children may be considered on a case-by-case basis and accepted with the approval of the physician-in-chief.
