When Denise and Adam Hauge learned they were expecting a baby last year, they were delighted to hear about another new arrival: The Mother Baby Center at Abbott Northwestern and Children’s – Minneapolis.

The result of a unique partnership in the care of mothers and babies, The Mother Baby Center opened in February. It brings together a skilled team of clinicians with expertise in the expecting and the unexpected.

Denise delivered a healthy baby girl, Liliana Hope, at the new center in March. “The facility is gorgeous and we were especially impressed by the warm, welcoming and roomy space available in the private birthing rooms,” said Denise. “It’s comforting to know that if any complications were to arise, everything is right there.”

The Abbott Northwestern Hospital Foundation raised $5.3 million in support of The Mother Baby Center, with leadership from volunteers Rick Chaffee and Muffy MacMilllan.

“What struck me as we toured the facility in January is that we are so fortunate to live in this community,” said Denise. “I am amazed at the generosity of the donors, which makes this type of facility possible for mothers, babies and families.”
