Weekly college program

Abbott Northwestern Hospital is the ideal place to provide you with volunteer experience, while giving you insight into the health care setting.

We offer flexible scheduling that can accommodate semester and class schedule changes. In addition, volunteering at Abbott Northwestern may even help you in your degree program.

In addition to our weekly college program, we offer Health Care Serve & Learn Experience . Through this program, college students gain valuable experience while participating in the rewarding opportunity to meet with a health care professional.

Volunteer opportunities

Volunteer Placement Process

To begin your volunteer experience, take these steps:

• 1. Complete an online application.







• 2. Complete and submit Mandatory Health Clearance form.



• 3. Attend orientation.



• 4. Complete required health screening. This can be completed at Abbott Northwestern (no charge) or by your physician. Information will be provided at Orientation.



• 5. Complete an onboarding shift. Information wil be provided at Orientation.
