What is Community Benefit?
Supporting heart healthy living is one way Allina Health makes a difference in communities throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
Allina Health seeks to decrease death and disability from cardiovascular disease by promoting heart healthy living, increasing screening and intervention, and improving early and effective response to cardiac events in our community.
Programs promote heart health
Heart Safe Communities Sudden cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, at anytime, to anyone. And it's almost always fatal. Allina Health works with communities to help them become safer places to live, work and play by reducing the number of deaths and disabilities from sudden cardiac arrest.
The Heart of New Ulm Project
This 10-year initiative designed to reduce, and eventually eliminate, heart attacks in New Ulm, Minnesota, began in 2009. Anyone who lives in the 56073 zipcode can participate by being screened for health risks and learning how improve them.
