How to look for whole grains

bread, crackers and other high fiber foods.

(HealthDay News) -- Whole grains are fiber-rich, heart-healthy foods. But it may be a challenge to find good sources.

The following are common whole-grain choices:

  • whole wheat flour, whole oats or whole oatmeal
  • popcorn, whole grain corn or corn meal
  • bulgur (cracked wheat), brown rice or wild rice
  • whole grain barley or whole rye
  • buckwheat or buckwheat flour
  • quinoa, triticale, millet or sorghum.
