Preparing for your baby and the first weeks after birth
To do list
Choose your baby's health care provider and see that person before your baby is born.
Let your health care provider and your baby’s health care provider know about your decisions about
post-birth procedures like circumcision and cord blood collection.
If you are interested in collecting blood from your baby's umbilical cord, check your local phone directory for cord blood programs in your area. You may find it helpful to interview your choices to find a company that will meet your needs.
Get your baby's car seat and install it. For more information about car seat installation safety,
go to carseat.org or seatcheck.org.
Register your baby equipment so that you can be notified if there is a problem.
