This healthful addition to your outdoor grilling menu includes two good sources of protein.
1/2 pound extra-lean 96 percent ground beef
1 can (15 to 16 ounces) Great Northern beans, drained, rinsed
1/4 cup finely crushed saltine crackers (about 7 squares)
2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
1/4 teaspoon pepper
5 whole-grain hamburger buns, split
5 teaspoons barbecue sauce
For broiler: Place patties on broiler pan. Broil with tops 4 to 5 inches from heat using previous times as a guide. Turn once and spread with barbecue sauce after turning.
