Chocolate dunking biscotti

Dunk this chocolate biscotti in your favorite hot beverage for a tasty treat!

1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Coat a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, allspice and salt.
  4. In another medium bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients. Add flour mixture and mix with hands to form dough. Dough will be dry, yet sticky. Split dough in half.
  5. Form each half of dough into a log shape and place on baking sheet. Each log should be 2x12 inches.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  7. Cut each log diagonally into 10 1/2-inch slices. Serve. (To toast, place slices back on baking sheet and bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 more minutes.)
