National recognition for support of perioperative nursing certification

Mercy Hospital – Unity Campus earned the CNOR® Strong designation from the Competency & Credentialing Institute. The CNOR Strong designation is given to facilities having at least 50 percent of its operating room (OR) nursing staff CNOR certified and provides programs that reward and recognize its certified nurses.

Top Performer on Key Quality Measures

Mercy Hospital – Unity Campus was recognized by The Joint Commission for exemplary performance in using evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to improve care for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care and urology.

The list of Top Performer organizations represents 36.9 percent of all Joint Commission-accredited hospitals reporting accountability measure performance data for 2013.

Each accountability measure represents an evidence-based practice, such as giving aspirin at arrival for heart attack patients or giving antibiotics one hour before surgery.

Patient Safety Excellence Award

Mercy Hospital – Unity Campus was recognized by the Minnesota Department of Health in 2015 for demonstrating excellence in patient safety.
