Midwest Adult Congenital Cardiac (MACC) Center

Ninety percent of children born with heart defects are now expected to live to adulthood and beyond thanks to surgical and medical breakthroughs. The Midwest Adult Congenital Cardiac (MACC) Center, a collaboration between Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Children's Heart Clinic (CHC) and Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota (CHCM), was created to treat these adult and adolescent survivors.

The MACC Center utilizes an integrated team approach when treating each patient because we believe patient care must individualized and continuous. We do this by staffing physicians who specialize in treating adult congenital heart disease (CHD). Our team of physicians and state-of-the-art technology provides unmatched quality of care and expertise in the full spectrum of CHD. When choosing Midwest Adult Congenital Cardiac Center, you will receive coordinated care using the most technologically advanced diagnostic and therapeutic treatments available, provided by specialists who truly care.

The MACC Center team of cardiovascular specialists and clinicians offer a full range of cardiology services for treating adult congenital heart disease, including:

  • a multi-disciplinary team of physicians and clinicians who evaluate patients' entire well-being,
  • outreach and education for adults as they transition from adolescence to adulthood and
  • participation in research to identify best practices for adult patients with congenital heart disease.
