  • Visiting a patient

    General visiting hours end at 8 p.m.

    The following are general guidelines for visitors:

    • Visitors may not smoke in patient rooms or anywhere on the hospital campus.
    • Visitors must dress appropriately and must wear shirts and shoes.
    • No more than four visitors are allowed at the bedside at one time.
    • People with colds, sore throats, or any contagious diseases should not visit patients.
    • Visits should be kept short.
    • Visitors should maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise.
    • Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments or when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient.
    • Latex balloons are prohibited in the hospital.

    Hours may be restricted for patients who are in intensive care, coronary care or an isolation area. Birth Center visiting hours: Fathers and siblings of newborns are welcome to visit anytime; other family and friends should visit during visiting hours. In order to enhance the quality of care, visiting hours and regulations are up to the discretion of the patient, doctor and nursing staff.

    If you need additional information, just check with the nurse on duty in the unit.

    Campus guide

    The information desk in the lobby of the main east entrance of the hospital is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guest information is available 24 hours at the Emergency Department entrance.

    Mercy's main patient registration department is open Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. For your convenience, enter through the Emergency door, which is open 24 hours a day. Registration for radiology, emergency and heart patients is done at the point of service.

    Wireless internet access

    Free wi-fi/wireless high-speed internet access is available for patients and visitors at the hospital.


    Tobacco-free campus

    In keeping with the Mercy Hospital purpose of promoting health and healing, tobacco usage is not permitted on the campus. 


    Mercy Hospital provides free parking for patients and visitors.

    Free valet parking and assistance is offered at the Heart Center and Main entrances for patients and visitors Monday to Friday, 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Handicapped parking is available near entrances with additional parking across Blackfoot Street.

    Valet service is not available on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
