By volunteering at Mercy Hospital, you will get to make a difference in people's lives. Volunteers from age 16 to 99 serve patients, staff and visitors at Mercy Hospital.

    What is required of volunteers?

    Volunteers are required to:

    • Commit to one shift every other week (approximately 8 hours a month) or as service area requires. The minimum commitment is 50 hours, or about 6 months.
    • Complete a health screening and criminal background check which are provided free of charge. The health screening includes MMR and Chicken Pox immunity status and a TB Screening.
    • Attend orientation and service specific training.

    • Support Services

    How do I get started?

    • Complete an Online Application
    • Students under the age of 16 are not eligible.
    • Or call 763-236-8011 for a paper form and schedule your orientation.
    • Attend orientation and complete the background check form and health screening. Make a placement appointment with the Volunteer Services department and attend area specific training after placement.
