    Hot turkey and cheddar sliders

These sliders are a great appetizer or snack if you’re trying to watch portion sizes.

    Ingredients

12 small dinner rolls (slider buns)
12 ounces low-sodium deli roasted turkey
    6 slices cheddar cheese
    1/2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
    nonstick cooking spray
    3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 1/2 tablespoons minced onion

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
    2. Cut dinner rolls in half. Cut each slice of cheese into 4 squares.
    3. Assemble each slider by placing 1 ounce of roasted turkey breast, 2 squares of cheese and a dollop of mustard on each of 12 slider halves. Top with the other halves of the dinner rolls.
    4. Place sliders on a baking sheet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. (You can also line a baking sheet with foil.)
    5. In a small bowl, mix together melted butter, garlic powder and onion. Pour mixture over sliders and let set at room temperature for 10 minutes.
    6. Cover sliders with foil and place in the oven to bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and continue baking until tops are lightly browned. Serve warm.

If you want to put an interesting spin on these sliders, stack the ingredients on several different kinds of dinner rolls. Try whole-grain, poppy seed or even pretzel rolls! (Option not included in nutrition facts.)

    Recipe tip

Save time by making the sliders and the sauce the night before and placing them in the refrigerator overnight. About 30 minutes before you’re ready to serve, simply place the sliders on a baking sheet, pour the sauce over top and bake!
