Ghostly pizza appetizer

Making pizza at home is a more healthful option than ordering in from your favorite pizza restaurant. Add healthful toppings such as spinach and thinly sliced Roma tomatoes for a little extra nutrition!

Ingredients

2 6.5-ounce packages dry pizza crust mix
nonstick cooking spray
12 slices mozzarella cheese
1 1/4 cups no-salt-added tomato sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
3 large black olives, cut into small pieces

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 F.
  2. Spray a small rectangular baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Prepare pizza dough according to package directions and spread on the baking sheet. Bake in oven until crust is lightly browned.
  3. While crust is baking, cut slices of cheese into ghost shapes. Set aside.
  4. In a small bowl, combine tomato sauce and Italian seasoning. Stir. Spread evenly over crust. Place ghost-shaped cheese on pizza. Then add pieces of black olives to each ghost as "eyes."
  5. Bake for 3 to 5 minutes, until cheese melts slightly.
  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 2 to 3 minutes. Cut into 12 pieces and serve warm.
