Prescription Assistance Program

En Español: Programa de Ayuda para Medicinas

Allina Health providers see patients every day who rely on prescription medicines to manage chronic diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease. But for patients who have low income, are uninsured or underinsured, the cost of medications is too high.

The Allina Health Prescription Assistance Program works to bridge this gap so patients can focus on getting better and not worry about how to pay for the medicine they need.

Prescription Assistance Program staff members can help you apply to pharmaceutical companies for free or reduced-cost medications. The process takes 4 to 6 weeks.

Each pharmaceutical company sets different guidelines, most often based on income level and lack of health insurance coverage. The Prescription Assistance Program helps coordinate the application process.
Ask your Allina Health health care provider to send a referral letter to the program.
There is no fee for patients to participate in the in the Prescription Assistance Program.
You may be eligible based on pharmaceutical company guidelines. Prescription Assistance Program staff will help to determine if you are eligible.
