    Benefits overview

    Health

Allina Health provides the tools and support to better understand how to manage physical health, prevent illness and achieve wellness.

    Medical plans

Allina Health offers several medical plan options to provide flexibility, different levels of coverage and premiums. All medical plans provide coverage on a broad array of services, including preventive care, hospital and clinic visits, mental health and chemical dependency care. Coverage is available to employees and eligible dependents, including children, spouses, and the children of spouses. Pharmacy, vision and hearing benefits are included in each of the Allina Health medical plan options.

    Dental coverage

Dental coverage helps employees and dependents access routine and preventive dental care at a reasonable cost. Our dental program covers 100 percent of the cost of preventive exams and cleanings every six months when using an in-network provider. Employees have access to a broad provider network and may choose to use an in-network or out-of-network dentists.

    Wellness programs

We offer programs and incentives to help support and encourage employees to take positive actions to Be Fit, including maintaining or adopting a healthy lifestyle. These programs are integral to what we do as a company, since preventive care and improving one's health is an important part of the Allina Health patient care model and strategic vision.

    Employee assistance program

We offer an employee assistance program (EAP) to provide employees with confidential assistance in resolving a variety of medical, personal, financial, emotional problems and/or concerns.

    Financial

Allina Health partners with employees to build a secure future through contributions to savings plans, investment assistance and financial education.

    Retirement savings plan

We make it easy for employees to save for retirement. For eligible employees, Allina Health matches 50 cents on every dollar you contribute, up to two percent of your pay and you are immediately vested in this company match. In addition, Allina Health makes an annual contribution depending on your years of service, ranging from 3 to 4.5 percent of your eligible pay. Employees are vested in the annual contribution balance after two years.

    Pre-tax reimbursement accounts

Pre-tax reimbursement accounts offer employees the opportunity to pay eligible health care and dependent care (day care) expenses by setting aside pre-tax dollars. This may reduce taxable income and result in more take-home pay.

    Health savings accounts (HSAs)

Employees who enroll in the Gold Health Savings Plan receive a $500 contribution from Allina Health for employee-only coverage or $1,000 for all other coverage levels (family, etc.).

    Work-life balance

Allina Health provides benefits that help you achieve a healthy work-life balance and plan for the "just in case" events to protect you and your family.

Paid time off (PTO) or vacation time

Allina Health supports employees maintaining a balance between work and other life activities. To foster a healthy work environment, Allina Health provides employees with:

    • paid time off (PTO combines traditional vacation, holiday and sick leave into a single "account" of paid leave or vacation.)
    • or vacation time, depending on eligibility classification.

Both the paid time off and vacation programs offer employees the flexibility to balance a busy life with responsibilities at work.

Life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage

Having life insurance can help protect your family's financial security. As part of our employee benefit package, Allina Health offers life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage. Employees may also purchase additional employee life insurance, and life insurance for a spouse and dependent child(ren) at group rates.

Income protection (short-term disability) and sick leave

Allina Health provides income protection and the sick leave at no cost to employees.

    • Income protection (short-term disability) is available to most benefits-eligible employees. It replaces a percentage of an employee's income for approved absences due to sickness or injury.
    • A sick leave benefit is for certain benefits-eligible employees who are not eligible for the income protection program. It supplements an employee's income for approved absences due to sickness or injury.

    Long-term disability

To help protect employees, Allina Health provides long-term disability (LTD) benefits. The LTD plan is designed to provide a benefit if you suffer an approved disability lasting longer than 90 days.

    Voluntary benefit products

These benefits are completely voluntary and offered to employees at group rates through payroll deduction.  Available voluntary options include:

    • vision care benefit
    • group legal plan
    • auto and home program
    • long-term care insurance
    • identify theft coverage
    • computer purchase program

    Tuition reimbursement

Allina Health believes it is important to provide support to eligible employees seeking to enhance their job-related skills and improve their potential for promotion and career development opportunities within Allina Health. By reimbursing certain educational expenses as a fringe benefit, Allina encourages employees to grow professionally.

    College savings plan

The Minnesota 529 College Savings Plan provides individual investment accounts that offer tax incentives to save for higher education and training. An account can be set up for a designated beneficiary (usually a child) and after-tax contributions are then automatically deposited through payroll into the account (the same as direct deposit). Then, when the money is withdrawn for qualified education expenses, there are no state or federal taxes on the earnings of the account.

    Adoption assistance

Allina Health provides assistance to employees who are building families through adoption by providing financial assistance and an adoption leave of absence.

    Business travel accident coverage

Allina Health provides employees with business travel accident coverage at no cost to employees.
