    The birth of your baby is a moment you will never forget. Everyone at Buffalo Hospital's Birth Center is committed to making sure it's an exceptional experience to cherish.

    Our Birth Center is a peaceful place to celebrate new beginnings in an environment designed for family-centered care. We deliver more than 650 babies a year and understand that every birth is a precious and unique experience.

    What you will find

    • Expert staff: experienced doctors and nurses to care for you and your newborn
    • Private birthing rooms: spacious labor and delivery rooms with the latest technology close at hand, yet uniquely designed to nurture and support mothers throughout the birthing experience
    • Comfortable postpartum suites: featuring private soaking tubs, flat-screen TV, wireless internet, refrigerator, rocking chair, bench seating and plenty of room for families and friends to gather and celebrate
    • Level II nursery: for babies born prematurely or with special care needs
    • VBAC options: for those considering vaginal birth after cesarean
    • Pain management: Expert nurses that can help you through any of your labor needs, with options such as aromatherapy, relaxation techniques, laboring in tubs, laboring balls, and others.
    • Breastfeeding support: You can count on us for support and information before, during and after your stay. Our experts include board-certified lactation consultants.
    • For friends and family: two waiting areas
    • Triage rooms: for outpatient observation and procedures
    • Halo SleepSack: All newborns receive a Halo SleepSack wearable blanket as a gift from the Buffalo Hospital Foundation. These are designed to swaddle your baby and promote safe sleep.
    • Resources for you: We understand caring for a newborn can be overwhelming so we are here to guide you through the process. We offer a variety of classes and our nurses work individually with new families, teaching baby care and providing on-going support to ensure your success.

    Are you prepared for your birth experience?

    Whether this is your first baby or you are welcoming another addition to your family, you will find our classes helpful. Our classes are taught by Allina Health Parent Educators who are committed to prepare you for the birth experience. Our classes are offered to meet your needs, with weekday classes held in the evening or weekend classes.
