  • Support expert care in your community

More than 200,000 patients and their family members come to Abbott Northwestern each year from across the upper Midwest. They experience care that is recognized locally and nationally for excellence. Our doctors, nurses and other health care providers take pride in this and continually look for ways to improve.

That is where donors come in. They help Abbott Northwestern and its health care providers excel even further. Charitable gifts make possible critical investments in medical technology, hospital facilities, innovative programs and education that improve patient care.

In recent years, donations have supported initiatives such as:

    • The Mother Baby Center The Mother Baby Center at Abbott Northwestern and Children's - Minneapolis, which opened in 2013. The center integrates Abbott Northwestern's fetal and maternal services - from perinatal to delivery to post-partum services - with Children's pediatric specialty care.
    • medical technology and staffing at the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute to ensure that cancer patients receive both cutting-edge and highly personalized care
    • the creation and expansion of the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing, which since 2003 has become a national leader in integrative health focused on healing the mind, body and spirit.
